I love riding the bus.
I love the community feel of the bus.
I love sharing the experience of traveling from here to there with others.
On the bus I like to observe people, to listen to conversations and to strike up a conversation of my own.
I believe that at least one positive, funny, interesting or inspiring thing happens on the bus every day.
I look for that thing.
And everyday, I find it.
A Wee Bit More About Me
Initially I had intended this blog to be anonymous, I was going for the “this could be written by the person sitting next to you” kind of storytelling, but since I share posts on Twitter I can hardly keep up the anonymous ruse.
On a bus, your eyes, ears, and pores are open absorbing in the variety, the wonder, and the magic of the city. It’s a wonderful way to get to know the city. George Takei
So, for those who wish to know more about me, here is a wee bit of information.
- I live and work in Portland, Oregon. Portland is a beautiful city and quite easy to navigate without a car. I use public transit to go to and from work and I am a Zipcar member, because there are those times when I just need a car.
- One of the reasons I enjoy the bus so much is because I love listening to people. I am sure that everyone has a story and I am always happy to listen. Studs Turkel is a hero of mine.
- A few things I enjoy other than riding transit are reading with my book club (we met on the bus!), gardening, being crafty and creative, throwing parties, planning trips and just trying to be a better person.
